Parish Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council advises the Pastor on the parish’s spiritual growth and community involvement, ensuring that the parish is faithfully implementing its strategic plan. The Council meets once a month for one to two hours. Members are expected to attend these meetings as well as the monthly meeting of a commission or committee and to welcome and encourage communication and participation from all parishioners. The term of a Council member is three years.

Parish Finance Council

Members of the Finance Council advise the Pastor on matters related to parish administration, including financial management, asset management, human resources, property and facilities management, and legal matters.  A background in finance, business, human resources, facilities management, or the law is desirable. Estimated time commitment for this committee is one meeting per month.

School Advisory Board

St. Thomas the Apostle Church is proud of its association with Carondolet Catholic School, the largest Catholic elementary school in Minneapolis. Advisory Board Members serve as counsel to the principal and are drawn primarily from the Christ the King and St. Thomas the Apostle parishes, with the majority of its members being parents or guardians of school students. Fr. Michael Reding, the Canonical Administrator of the school, serves as an ex officio member of the board along with Principal Sue Kerr. The responsibilities of the board include: policy development, finance, and long-term development and planning. The time commitment includes monthly board meetings and committee work between meetings. The term of a board member is three years.
